Classic Construction green renovations and additions are built with the highest energy conservation in mind. A few of our methods include using low-voltage lighting, insulated skylights and multiple-glazed window large enough to allow in lots of natural light.
When possible we use materials of the highest energy conservation standards: high efficiency insulation in walls and ceilings, energy efficient glazing, environmentally friendly sealants, paints and energy efficient roofing products. We encourage using dual flush toilets and rain sensor sprinklers systems to conserve water consumption. We also use the latest high efficiency air conditioning and heating units and incorporate Energy star appliances into our projects.
To reduce excess fuel consumption we order our granite and stone from local suppliers and in some cases direct from the quarry. We also send demolition debris to local recycling plants whenever possible. This is just a brief outline of how we approach our green construction. We look forward to giving you a more in-depth consultation for your next project and working with you to develop your project in an eco-friendly manner.
“For every project I choose a team of skilled professional trades-people who are as committed to our standards of quality in green building and craftsmanship as we are. Some of those trades-people I’ve worked with for more than 20 years,” says Ian. “At the end of the day, we look at what we’ve done and feel we’ve accomplished what we set out to do in the most environmentally friendly manner possible.”
